Parrucchiere Donnagiò di Oliveto Fiorella
In 1970, hairdresser Gastone Guaraldi (known as Mario) returned to Ferrara, his home town, after 14 years working in Cortina d’Ampezzo and a long and successful career as a hairdresser in the renowned mountain resort. There he had counted famous personalities and actresses of the time among his clients, taken part in competitions and events, and achieved considerable success, as documented by the historic photographs displayed in the current Ferrara salon.
He opened his own shop in Via Aldighieri, an evocative street in the heart of medieval Ferrara, which he named “Parrucchiere Mario”.
Nostalgia for his roots and the wish to be closer to his elderly parents, in particular his father Goliardo, himself a historic barber from Voghiera (a town in the province of Ferrara), as was his grandfather, gave rise to this historic shop.
The family tradition did not stop there: his daughter Giovanna, in fact, after graduating, joined the salon’s team and later became a business partner. The shop thus became Parrucchieri Mario e Giò Donnagiò di Guaraldi Giovanna until mid-October 2023.
The baton then passed to Fiorella Oliveto, an employee of the same salon for more than 8 years and now its new owner: a young and enterprising businesswoman who decided to invest in the tradition and continue such a historic and long-standing business. Fiorella’s philosophy is based on the sustainability of hair and of the planet, using only eco-friendly, local products. The shop therefore has a dual soul: a historic one, linked to its roots and loyal customers, and a more contemporary one, attentive to the environment, ecology and scalp wellbeing. A place to relax and put yourself in the expert hands of someone who, for years, has dedicated themselves to meeting all their customers’ needs and requests.
